Columbus City Schools is thankful to the Columbus community for its overwhelming support of the combined 7.85 mill operating levy and a 1.13 mill bond issue in the November 2008 levy request. The District continues to make good on these levy promises, cutting $76 million from our budget, while completing new or historically renovating buildings, reducing K-3 average classroom size, providing safer; cleaner; more efficient new school buses, updated textbooks, and returning critical instruction time back into the day. Additionally, as promised during the campaign, the Columbus Board of Education will not be seeking an additional operating levy until 2012.
