Linden Park I.G.E.(Individually
Guided Education) provides a process for designing instruction for each student
based on assessment, learning objectives and diversified learning opportunities.
Linden Park was designed in an open-space configuration to facilitate the I.G.E. concepts.
We use the Comprehensive Literacy Program with Four Blocks Instructional Model for grades fourth and fifth. In grades kindergarten-third we use the Literacy Across Columbus Elementary Schools (LACES) unified reading program. The unified program will focus on the components of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and research based practices in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and text comprehension. To further inhance reading we use the individualized computer reading program called Reading Counts.
Linden Park selects 12 writers each month to receive the Writer of the Month award. These writers are published in a collection of works produced by Ameritech, our Adopt-A-School partner.

The school has the right to regulate dress and grooming. Improper dress will be judged on an individual basis and the principal will make the final decision as to whether or not clothing is in compliance with the district dress code.
Cell Phones
Cell phones are not to be used in school during class time or on the playground. Students must seek permission from the Principal, Mrs. Fryer, to use their cell phones for special reasons.
