Columbus Public Schools Art Subs

The art lessons offered here are meant to be used by an art substitute teacher, if there are no specific art lesson plans left by the regular art teacher, or for use by the regular classroom teacher in the case of no art substitute. 10 lessons are suggested for use with primary students (kindergarten and grades 1 and 2), and 10 are for intermediate grade-level students (grades 3, 4, and 5). 5 lessons are considered “adaptable” for all grade levels. Art media needed is listed on each lesson plan, but will normally consist of basic drawing supplies (markers, pencils, crayons, etc.) that should be readily available in the art or regular classroom, on the “art cart,” in the “Sub Tub,” or in the school supply closet/area. All lessons support district goals and meet State of Ohio Grade Level Indicators for Visual Art instruction.
