The mission of East High School is to create an innovative academic environment where all students can attain their highest academic and personal potential while achieving mastery of the essential skills needed for positive future living. East High School is a comprehensive high school offering a college preparatory curriculum. In 2008 we launched the Academy of Engineering with the incoming freshman class. Project Lead the Way® (PLTW) pre-engineering electives compliment the AOE core course curriculum, providing students with opportunities to engage in hands-on, project based learning. East offers Advanced Placement Calculus and a U.S. History course in conjunction with Kenyon College. Our students also have opportunities to enroll in Post-Secondary Education Opportunity (PSEO) Courses through Hocking College, Columbus State Community College and DeVry University. Our staff is fully engaged in Professional Learning Communities, which has helped to transform the way we approach teaching and learning. Our staff collaboration has enabled us to effectively utilize formative instruction and assessment to increase academic achievement across content areas. Our newly renovated school boasts state of the art technology and science laboratories, as well as interactive instructional resources in all other general classroom spaces. East has demonstrated excellence in athletic competition. Our outstanding marching band and drill team is invited to perform in many out-of-state and local community events.
